DAISY (KAY) MABEL CLARKE Peacefully on August 15, 2003, Daisy Mabel Clarke (Bond), passed away at Concordia Hospital, Winnipeg, MB, Canada. Kay was predeceased by her husband Douglas Clarke in 1985, and brothers, Cecil and Harold Bond. She leaves to mourn her passing son Owen Arthur Clarke (Susan) granddaughters, Christine (Eric) and Shelley. She is also survived by sisters Kitty Sweetman and Doris Fry of Eastbourne, Sussex, England, and numerous nieces and nephews. Kay was born in Polegate, England on December 9, 1910, where she later owned several hairdressing shops. During the war, Doug and Kay were married in Polegate and moved to Winnipeg following Dougs tour of duty. They later moved to Beausejour and then to Carman, MB, in 1958, and finally moved to Winnipeg in 1984. Kay was an active member of St. Johns Anglican Church in Carman and worked countless hours at the local Fair. She enjoyed bowling for which she won many awards, playing billiards and the organ, square dancing, and handicrafts. She was an avid football fan, cheering for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. During the last few years her eyesight failed her but she continued her passion for reading through the CNIB talking book program. A memorial celebration of her life will take place at St. Catherines Anglican Church in Birds Hill, MB, on Monday, August 18 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at a later date.
