Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCLIFFORD HENRY GALE Clifford Henry Gale, age 75, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August, 13, 2003 at the Riverview Health Centre. Clifford was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Maureen in 2001; parents, Thomas and Helen; and brother Keith. He is survived by son Timothy, daughter-in-law Sherri, grandson Anthony, and twin granddaughters, Sophie and Olivia, all of Calgary; and numerous extended family in the United Kingdom. Clifford was born in Abertillery, South Wales, on September 11, 1927. He attended Christ College Brecon as a youth and served in the Second World War in the Royal Navy (Fleet Air Arm). After the war, Clifford trained as a civil engineer and held a number of senior positions in South Wales. In 1954, he married Maureen (Jones), and in 1967, they immigrated to Winnipeg where they resided ever since. Clifford retired as Superintendent from the City of Winnipeg Works and Operations Department (District No. 1) in 1993, after 26 years. He was a very active member and past-President of the Western Canada Water & Sewage Association. Clifford and Maureen were married for 47 blissful years before her passing in 2001. They had many fond memories of their early years together in the U.K. and of their time in Winnipeg, notably at their cottage on Dorothy Lake in the Whiteshell Provincial Park. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Emergency Department at St. Boniface Hospital and the staff of Wing E at Riverview Health Centre for their remarkably compassionate care. No service will be held. The family requests that donations be made in Cliffords memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
