Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHILDA LAFERINE (nee BARKER) Peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, August 14, 2003 at the Pine Falls Hospital, Pine Falls, MB, Hilda Laferine, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, was taken home to be with her Lord at the age of 76 years. She leaves to mourn her loving husband of 55 years, William; her two daughters, Bernice (Alec), Rose (Lindsay) grandchildren, Melba (Edward), Art (Rhonda), Greg (Laura), Romanda (Wayne), Seneca (Tracy), Cheryl (Brian) two foster children she raised for a number of years, Barry (Wanda) and Rita McKenzie; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She will be cherished deeply by her surviving siblings, Rosie (Oliver), Cyril, Thelma (Norman), Bill, Melvin (Yvonne) and Rene (Lorlei). Hilda was predeceased by her sons, Stanley in 1980, Brian in 1954 and three baby girls; her parents, Chief George Barker in 1982 and Ida Barker in 1985; and by her seven brothers and six sisters. Special thank you to Russell Smith, Sandra Moneyas and Brittany Bird for their assistance in caring for Mom while at home. A very special thank you to the staff of the George M. Guimond Care Home and the Pine Falls Blue Water Health Complex, Dr. Mare and staff for their care and compassion for our Mom and family. Wake services will be held at the Hollow Water Band Hall, August 16 and 17. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 18 at 2:00 p.m. from the Christ Church Anglican, Hollow Water, MB, with Rev. Nancy Bruyere officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Art James, Steven Smith, Seneca Bushie, Edward Kidd, Wayne Moneyas, Randall Bird Jr., Blair Moneyas. Pallbearers will be Chief Larry Barker, Todd Barker, Rene Barker, Dennis Sinclair, Charles Smith and Raymond Meade. RUSSELL FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATORIUM of Beausejour, MB are in care of arrangements.
