DORIS YOSHIYE GYBA (nee SUGA) Peacefully, on the morning of Tuesday, July 20, 2004, Doris Gyba passed away in her sleep following a lengthy fight with cancer. Doris was born November 7, 1937, in Vancouver, BC. She later moved to Winnipeg where she met her husband Henry Gyba and raised their two sons, Ryan and Robert. Her chosen profession was in the field of insurance where she had amassed over 30 years of experience. Doris was an ample source of support and was always available when advice was needed. She enjoyed reading and talking with friends. She had a great love for the animals in her life including her two dogs Popcorn and Buddy. It was a rare occurrence not to have them by her side. Doris is survived by her sons and their partners Janelle and Linda, and sister Anne (husband Bert Backeland, children Regan and Jeffery). She was predeceased by her husband, and her parents Yoshio and Fumiko Suga. Doris will be greatly missed by her family and friends. According to Doris wishes a cremation has taken place and a small family gathering was held on Saturday, July 24. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris memory may be made to: the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3, or the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
