Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHANNA VAN GERWEN Peacefully, on August 15, 2003, at the glorious age of 95, Johanna Van Gerwen (Hendriks) passed away in Winnipeg at the Bethania Nursing Home. Johanna was born in Gogh, Germany, January 3, 1908, however soon afterward moved with her family to Holland. Johanna is predeceased by her husband Thys (Martin) Van Gerwen; son Gerad and daughter-in-law Irene Van Gerwen. Left to celebrate her life are her five children, daughter Mary (Ben) Van Amelsvoort of Winnipeg, son Mike (Noella) Van Gerwen of Bissett, son Hennie (Margaret Kentner) Van Gerwen of Marquette, son Johnny (Bev) Van Gerwen of Lac Du Bonnet, daughter Joanne (Joe) Nuxoll of Kitchener; daughter-in-law Annie (widow of Gerad) Van Gerwen of Holland; her only brother, Jan Hendrik and family of Holland; as well 14 grandchildren, their spouses and extended families; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Service will be held Thursday, August 21 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethania Personal Care Home Chapel, 1045 Concordia Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Johannas honour to Bethania Personal Care Home.
