MORE (BUSTER-BUD) GILBERT October 17, 1913 - August 18, 2003 Buster (Bud) peacefully passed away at the Grace Hospital after a brief illness. More is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Anne; his daughter Ruby (Norbert) LeBlanc; grandson Ronald (Jennifer) granddaughter Shawna (Jeff) great-grandchildren, Emily Grace, Jared, Sydney and Andrea; sister Florence; brothers, Alex and Clarence; nephews and nieces as well. He was predeceased by his brothers, Stanley and Donald. He was born in the Rural Municipality of Cornwallis, MB. After many years of truck driving, mechanics, farming, being a hired hand, he joined the Canadian Armoured Core and was stationed in Camp Borden and Camp Shilo as driver, mechanic and instructor. He was discharged in 1946 as a Corporal after the war. He settled in Domain where he was a mechanic for Domain Motors Garage until 1967. Buster was also a member of the Domain Legion and Auxiliary #208, and received his 50-year pin. In 1967 he moved to Winnipeg and was employed by Reimer Trucking until his retirement. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 22 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, and coffee buddies. Buster (Bud), as everyone knew him, was a great storyteller giving attention to all details. A true and honest friend and a loving family man.
