FRED BALL January 11, 1917 - August 19, 2003 It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of their beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Fred Ball, on Tuesday, August 19, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer. Fred was predeceased by his wife Henrietta in 1991. He leaves to cherish his memories his daughters, Vivian Whitehead, Pat (Glen) Brown, Sharon Ball, Judy (Adrian) Van Hamond; his son Terry (Sheila) 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; his brother Leonard (Isobel) and numerous nieces and nephews. Dad spent his time travelling the country visiting with family, gardening, doing crosswords, watching sports, and doing odd jobs around the house. Dad especially enjoyed the time spent with his family. For this he will always be remembered. Special thanks to Dr. R. Davey, the home care providers: Rick, Dusty, Kevin and Jocelyn, for the care they gave Dad during his illness. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 25 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). Interment will follow in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of ones choice.
