FLORENCE IRENE PARBERY (nee AVERY) Our mom, grandma, aunt and friend passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Thursday, August 21, 2003 at the age of 82 years. Florence is survived by her sons, Glen and Ross (Maureen) grand-children, Sara and Christopher; nieces, Barb Ames and Marilynn Lockhart; great-niece Lori Ames-Carriere; and great-great-nieces, Caelan and Emily Carriere; along with many other family members and dear friends. She was predeceased by Frank, her husband of 30 years of marriage. Born and raised in , Florence was the youngest of seven children of Henry and Sara Avery. She graduated as a registered nurse from St. Boniface Hospital in 1943 and worked as a nurse in Morden, Flin Flon, and Winnipeg. In 1947, she joined Trans Canada Airlines as a flight attendant for two years. Florence then returned to nursing where she completed training as a Radio Therapy Technician. Florence was active in lawn bowling and 5 pin bowling. She loved her walks along the Sturgeon Creek pathway and get-togethers with her friends at the Courts of St. James. She was a frequent traveller and had the opportunity to recently visit Ireland, Seattle, Calgary, and Eastern Canada. She had a great fashion sense which is shared by her granddaughter and could often be found shopping for clothes and accessories. She was a strong and wonderful woman and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her influence and teachings live on through her family, friends, and others she touched during her life. A celebration of Florences life will be held in the Community Room at the Hampshire Court in the Courts of St. James, 200 Ronald St., beginning at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 25. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Our family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Grace Hospital I.C.U. They treated our entire family with dignity and respect. "Have a safe trip Mom and say hello to Dad." WOJCIKS in care of arrangements, 897-4665.
