ANNE SALKI (nee OKRUSKO) Surrounded by her loving family, Anne peacefully passed into the loving arms of Jesus on August 21, 2003 at the age of 85. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Lena Okrusko; and brothers, Michael, Andrew and Peter. In her 62nd year of marriage, Anne is survived by her husband William; her children, Alexander (Catherine) Salki and Patricia (Albert) Shrupka; her grandchildren, Suzanne (Brian) Ketcheson, Pamela (Mark) Rolland, Patrick (Kim) Shrupka, Matthew and Kerry Salki, Kevin and Jennifer ONeill-Salki; and her great-grandchildren, Kayla, Ashton, Zachary and Samuel. Also surviving Anne are her sister Elenore (Walter) Porbanic; and brothers, Norman and Bill (Nadia) Okrusko; and numerous nieces and nephews. Anne was a faithful member of the Ukrainian Catholic Womens League of Canada for the past 41 years. Since 1961 she was a devoted member of St. Annes Parish. Anne will be remembered for her joy of cooking, where a simple meal would become a family feast; her African violets; and her crocheted hats which were given away to countless children. Annie and Papa Willys perogie care packages were enjoyed by family far and wide. Her last words to her daughter were "I love you... theres perogies in the freezer!" Prayers will be held at St. Annes Ukrainian Catholic Church, 455 Douglas Ave., at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, August 28. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Annes on Friday, August 29 at 10:00 a.m., with Rt. Canon Walter Klimchuk officiating. Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Annes Ukrainian Catholic Church or the Childrens Hospital Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Knysh Funeral Chapel, 582-0973.
