MARJORIE SPRONG (nee WATERMAN) Peacefully on August 22, 2003 at Selkirk General Hospital Marjorie Sprong of East Selkirk passed away at age 75. Predeceased by her husband Henry in 1980. Marjorie leaves to mourn her passing five children, Donna (John Strickland), Sherry (Bill Robertson), Charlotte (Larry Johannson), Beverley (Ray Girard), and Hank (Kim). She will be sadly missed by her 11 grandchildren, Johnathan, Jennifer (Marty), Crystal (Rich), Larry (Karlene), Kyle (Tarya), Natalie, Erik, Dawn-Rae, Randi, Destinee and Kaylee; great-granddaughter Victoria and special friend and companion Rheal Roy as well as brothers, Reg, Tom and Bunty and numerous family members and friends. Born June 28, 1928 Marjorie resided all her life in the Selkirk area. She was an accomplished cake decorator and took great pride in the fact she decorated a cake which was for Queen Elizabeth on a Canadian visit. Her love of bingo was only surpassed by the quality time she spent with her grandchildren who kept her young at heart. She was an active member of the over 60 club at Legion Branch No. 42 and a resident of Happy Thought Villa where she enjoyed preparing meals for all her friends. She was a founder and past president of Baker Boy catering who will always be remembered for her strong will and dedication to her beliefs. Cremation has taken place and a short graveside service will be held at St. Clements Cemetery on Tuesday, August 26 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation.
