ROBERT WAYNE COX It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of our Dad, grandfather, brother and uncle on Thursday, August 21, 2003 at the Selkirk and District General Hospital. He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughter Charlene (Jim) who he cared so much for; his grandchildren, Gerald, Ashley and Karley; his brother Keith (Kristine) and family; sisters, Bev and family and Irene. He was predeceased by his mother Edna; father Robert; brother George and his sister-in-law Eileen. Dad was born on March 6, 1943 in Selkirk, MB, having lived all his life in the Kirkness area. He started working at the age of 15 for Lester Brothers of Birds Hill. Continuing in the trucking industry, he went on to Lakeshore contracting for a number of years. He then went on to Jones Sand and Gravel working for many more years driving his favorite green Ford truck which he liked so much, retiring in 2002. He left many fond memories behind which we will treasure. Dad was a very kind man. He loved helping out in any way he could. He was just a phone call away. You could always find Dad sitting at the side of the house on his favorite bench waiting for anyone to stop in and visit or just waving to his friends and neighbours driving home from work. They will all miss him dearly. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, August 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 28 at 1:00 p.m. in the Little Britain United Church. Interment will follow in the churchyard cemetery. The family wishes to thank "SDGH and EMS" staff for their care and compassion. You are all wonderful people. All his trucking buddies and very close friends should consider themselves honorary pallbearers. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements in care of arrangements.
