ROMEO VISINTIN January 20, 1930 - August 22, 2003 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Romeo Visintin on August 22, 2003. He will be deeply missed by his wife Laura, daughter Silvia (David) Kennedy; son Bruno (Paulette) and grandson Leo. He leaves to mourn his brother Bruno (Vittoria) nieces, Daniella and Sonia in France; mother-in-law Maria Bisiach; sister-in-law Flavia; nieces, Lora and Luana in Slovenia; brother-in-law Graziano and family as well as an aunt and cousins all in Australia, and special family member Adam. He was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Carolina Visintin and his father-in-law Antonio Bisiach. Romeo immigrated to Canada with his wife and children from Trieste, Italy in May 1960. He was employed as a baker and in 1971 he was able to open his own bakery. Winnipeg Bakery was his pride and joy. Along with his family he worked tirelessly to make it a success. Romeo retired in July 1998. For Papa la famiglia was the most important thing in his life. Sunday dinner was spent eating Mommas special dishes, talking about the past week events and remembering family far away. He used to enjoy entertaining friends with abundant food and his own wine. The camaraderie and singing on these on these occasions were especially joyous. Papa was handy in doing many things around the house from cooking, baking to building the rec room. In the spring he looked forward to working in the garden. He loved sitting in the garden during the warm summer evening. The birth of his grandson Leo added to his joy. They spent many hours playing together. His family and his many friends will dearly miss him. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 26 between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding at the Eucharist. Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the charity of their choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
