NELLIE KORNYK It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Nellie Kornyk on Saturday, August 23, 2003 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 75. She leaves to cherish her memory, son Gary; daughters, Judy Shawara and Karen (Gerald) Freund. Grandchildren, Sheldon, Blair, Donna, Ingrid, Farro, Kelly, Kristin, Kerry and Karla. Three great-grandchildren and Nellies best friend and sister Cynthia Seniuk. Nellie was predeceased by her parents, her husband Paul and sister Irene. Nellie enjoyed playing cards and shuffle board with friends in her building. She also enjoyed making perogies and cabbage rolls for all her family and friends. She always looked forward to spending time with her family, never forgetting a birthday or special occasion. Nellie was a very special person and never had a bad word to say about anyone, always putting others before herself. Prayers will be held Thursday, August 28 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel at Glen Eden Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place Friday, August 29 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Glen Eden Funeral Home. Interment and a reception for family and friends will follow. Pallbearers will be Byron Hawryluk, Garnet Workman, James Seniuk, Sheldon Kornyk, Blair Kornyk and Farro Braun. The family would like to thank the overworked day and night staff (the nurses and health care aids) on the 3rd floor at the Concordia Hospital, as well as Dr. Johnson. A special thanks to Linda and Dora for being there. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
