DALE TREHERN MATTHEWS Peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2003 at St. Boniface Hospital, Dale Trehern Matthews passed away at the age of 77 years. Dale was predeceased by his loving wife Margaret J. Matthews in 1980, great-grandson Trent and brothers, Asa and Neil. He is survived by his son Martin and his wife Georgina, daughter Patricia and her husband Ron Porter, four grandchildren, Jason Porter and his wife Chrissy, Darryl Porter and Shannon and Darcy Matthews; two brothers, Carl and Earl; and two sisters, Ida Mossip and Edith MacMillan. Dale was born in Winnipeg on December 7, 1925. He was employed with the Canadian National Railway for 37 years. Dale served with the Royal Winnipeg Dragoons during the Second World War from May 4, 1944 to November 23, 1946. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 27 at 11:00 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway with Mrs. Joan Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in St. Vital Cemetery. Special thanks to Diane and Aunt Edith for their help through this difficult time. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Salvation Army.
