ROSE-MARIE PETIT (nee BRAIS) June 11, 1939 - August 23, 2003 Suddenly, but peacefully, with "Buddy" at her side at the age of 64 years; wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend took her final journey to meet her Lord and Saviour. Left to mourn her passing is her husband of 41 years, Raymond; her children, Sylvia, Emile, Colette and Celine; and her two grandchildren, Tyler and Lianne. Born in St. Joseph, MB, Rose-Marie is survived by her sisters, Therese Vuignier, Georgette Houle (Arthur), Jeannette Velcich, Fleur-Ange Scott (Richard) and Francoise Goovaerts (George), as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Rosairo and Melina, and her brothers, Marcel, Alexis, Etienne, George and Gilles; her sisters, Aline McKay, Renee Remillard and Germaine Brais. Rose-Marie had numerous passions in her life. After completing high school in St. Joseph, Rose-Marie followed her first passion and received her diploma in Nursing. She had a genuine gift for caring and nurturing whomever needed her care. She married Raymond on October 20, 1962. They had four children and called Ile-des-Chenes their home until her retirement six months ago. Upon retirement, she moved to Winnipeg to reside at lAcceuil Colombien where she discovered retirement to be "a lot of fun and relaxation". Her second passion was the love of her grandchildren, Tyler and Lianne, to whom she gave undying love, devotion, nurturing and care. She would spend as much time as she possibly could with them since the day they were born. To mention her grandchildren, would light up her face. The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness, love and support in this difficult time. Funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Paul Campeau at the Saint-Boniface Cathedral on Thursday, August 28 at 10:30 a.m. Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. The service will terminate at the church and cremation will follow. A private interment of Rose-Maries cremated remains will take place in the Ile-des-Chenes Parish Cemetery at a later date. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Rose-Marie may be made to the Villa Vita, 20-200 rue Masson in St. Boniface or to a charity of ones choice. "God is love, to a child, love is Mom."
