JAMES "CHEEMIS" COWLEY It is with deepest sadness and love our family announces the passing of our beloved Jim on Monday, August 25, 2003. He is survived by his siblings, John (Suzanne), Ted (Mary), Burma (Les), Jeanette (Ray) and Ralph. Also, many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Harriet; sister Georgina; brother Andrew; and three infant siblings. Jim lived all his life in Hollow Water. He worked as a fisherman and trapper. He was an icon in his community and renowned for his many talents (fiddle and guitar playing, singing, jigging). He brought the gift of laughter to wherever he was. There will always be a Jim story to tell and famous "anecdotes" hes left us. Expressions such as "Did I?" and "Is that right?" have his own personal stamp in Hollow Water. His memory will live on forever because he is unforgettable. A special man who enriched our lives just by knowing him. Wake services and Sacred Fire will be held at the Band Hall from Tuesday, August 26 to Friday, August 29. Funeral services will be held August 29 at the Roman Catholic Sacred Heart Church at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow. Pallbearers are Martin (Little Cheem) Cowley, George Cowley, Derek Bushie, Larry Raven, Gerald Contois, Barry Contois. Honorary pallbearers are Henry Moneyas Sr., Philip Moneyas, Oliver Sinclair, Frank Moneyas and Ray Raven. A special thank you to the staff at Pine Falls General Hospital and all our family and friends who supported us during this time. Rock Fontaine Funeral Director in care of arrangements.
