ALAN JOHN FRANKLIN SMITH Suddenly on August 28, 2003 at the St. Boniface Hospital, after a brief illness, with his family at his side, Alan Smith passed away. Al was born August 7, 1941 and was raised in Darlingford, MB. He left home at an early age to answer his calling to enlist in the Canadian Navy and completed his basic training on the East Coast. Later in life, he answered his true calling for the love of the road working in the trucking and bus industry, spending his last 25 years at Grey Goose Bus Lines as a driver. Al was predeceased by his parents, and his brother Greg. He is survived by his loving wife Gloria; son Kevin (Tammi) daughter Shannon; and grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Brooklynn, Abigail, and Brandon; brothers, Kelly and David of Calgary; as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Friday, September 5 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Vital Catholic Church, 1639 Pembina Hwy.
