GRACE MILLAR Our dear mom, Grace Millar, passed away peacefully at Seven Oaks Hospital on August 25, 2003 after a brief illness. Mom was predeceased by her much loved husband Stewart, in November 1989 and son-in-law Alastair Clark, in September 1981. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Jean Smith and Nell Rogers; and brothers, Stan and Bert Swan. She is survived by her two daughters, Betty Clark and Pat Hillhouse; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, Stewart (Cathy) Clark and Amanda; Bruce (Jody) Clark; Scott (Wilma) Hillhouse and Matthew Joshua, Michael, Leah; Craig Hillhouse; Liz (Gilbert) Hacault and Adam, Tyler; Garnet Hillhouse and Alex; Ian Hillhouse; Grant Clark; Tricia Cousins and Andrew, Curtis. Mom is also survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Kenrose Swan, Janet (Jerry) Sudaby, Margaret Wilson, Ruth McKnight, Jessie Millar, Kay Millar, Andy (Mary) Millar; as well as many nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends. Mom had a full and active life, enjoying many summers at Grand Beach, and numerous trips abroad including Europe, Britain, and Hawaii. She bowled with the Elmwood ladies until she was 86 years of age. She was a proud member of Jephthah Chapter O.E.S, an active member of the Sons of Scotland, Lord Selkirk Camp 205, Past Chiefs Association, a member of Gordon-King Memorial United Church and a life member of the U.C.W. Mom was born on September 28, 1909 and lived in Elmwood until moving into 1630 Henderson Hwy., 10 years ago. There she enjoyed her friends and the activities in the social room. She had a strong and determined spirit and the family is thankful that she did not suffer. Many thanks to the home care girls for their attention and concern, and to the staff on the third floor, Unit 4 of Seven Oaks Hospital, for their excellent care and compassion at this time. A special thanks to all her friends at 1630. A celebration of her life will be held at Klassen Funeral Chapel, at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 28. Private family interment to follow at the Elmwood Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined, but donations to the Autism Society of Manitoba, 825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5, to honour her great-grandson would be greatly appreciated.
