Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySONIA JEANE DANYLEYKO It is with great sadness and love that our family announces the peaceful passing of Sonia Jeane Danyleyko at her residence in Selkirk on August 27, 2003 at the age of 72 years. Left to cherish her memory are her nieces, Kim Bernardo (Lorne Canvin) and Darlene (George) Hacking; her nephew Terry Danyleyko; her sister-in-law Shirley (Harold) McCumber; and great nieces and nephews Kyla, Ellie, Malcolm, Iain, Danny, Kasey, Shaun and Emma. She was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Jean; her brother Danny and her sister Donna. She will be greatly remembered for her warmth, kindness and generosity. One of the greatest gifts she gave to our family was a kidney to her brother, our dad and husband, which enabled him to be with us for an additional 18 years following the transplant. For this we will be eternally grateful. Sonia had a cottage at Deception Lake in Ontario where she and three generations of our family spent weekends and summer holidays for 35 years. Sonia loved fishing and swimming in the lake, entertaining and cooking fabulous meals on a wood stove for her family and guests. She loved the wildlife at the lake, especially the call of the loon, feeding the whisky jacks leftover bacon and toast, dog biscuits to the foxes and sweet water to the hummingbirds. She loved playing cards, star gazing, listening to classical music. Her enthusiasm and appreciation of all these were instilled in all who knew her. In the winter time she enjoyed watching figure skating, attending the opera and wishing she were at the lake. Sonia was a caring and gentle woman who loved to laugh. She will be sadly missed and greatly remembered. A service of Remembrance will be held Tuesday, September 2 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Clements Anglican Church with Rev. Godfrey Mawejje officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, 200-55 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 1L8, or to the charity of your choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
