BARBARA JO DENT June 2, 1947 - August 27, 2003 On August 27, after a lengthy and difficult battle with cancer, Barbara passed away. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Harold; daughter, Shelley; daughter and son-in-law Shannon and Sean; and grandsons, Braeden and Tyler. She is also survived by her parents, Joan and James Reed; and sisters, Anne, Christine and Joan in California. Barbara spoiled her family and friends with her cooking, sewing, creative childrens activities, birthday and occasion doings and ability to remember special details for all of the people in her life. In her professional life she was a meticulous court reporter with a knack for remembering and being genuinely interested in the people she worked with. Barbara was both generous, sensitive and soft-hearted and had a core of strength that has impressed and amazed us all. She is greatly missed. Special thanks to Dr. West, Dr. Mihalciou, nurse Tanya Henderson, Dr. Mills and the excellent staff at Riverview 3 East. A memorial service will be held at Garry Memorial Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Saturday, August 30 at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a childrens charity of your choice.
