MARIA EDUARDA PEDRO After a lengthy illness, Maria Eduarda Pedro passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on Wednesday, August 27, 2003. She will be sadly missed, and lovingly remembered, by her husband Manuel Pedro, of 50 years; daughters, Crisalida Martins (Jorge) and grandson Daniel, Maria Finley, son Joe Pedro (Karen) and grandson Darien; sisters, Zenaida and Isuara; brother Aires; and many other family members and friends. She was predeceased by her sister Carminda. Maria was born in 1925 in Sao Miguel Azores, Portugal, and moved to Canada to reside in Winnipeg in 1962. She worked as a seamstress until retirement. She was a wonderful loving mother and will be remembered for her "Sunday Soup," and her "Hockey Puck Cookies" that everyone loved and looked forward to, and was lovingly called our little "Bolinha" by her children. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren Daniel Martins who she cared for until school age, and Darien Pedro who she cared for until she fell ill a year ago. She will be sadly missed by her family and all of her friends. Marias funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 30 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. N., Winnipeg, with Fr. Jose Eduardo Medeiros officiating.
