GARTH A. GARSIDE 1929 - 2003 Peacefully, after a long struggle with illness, Garth passed away at the Fort Garry Care Centre on August 29, 2003. Garth will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years Judy; his sister-in-law Helen Leggo; his five children, Linda (Ray) Fontaine, Janet (Dan) Kay of Hamilton, Susan (Rick) Willms of Edmonton, Jim (Lori Butler) and Debbie (Lindsay) Nikkel. Proud grandfather of Ken, Nicki, Melissa. Jaylyn, Jaime, Lauren, Joel, Kyla, Shawna, Jessica and Caitlyn. After carrying on the family insurance business of Gordon Leggo Ltd., Garth retired in 1999. Over the years, Garth was actively involved in his church and community as a school trustee, Rotary member and was a co-founder of the Kinsmen Reh-Fit Centre. He took great pleasure spending time at the family cottage at Clearwater Bay. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 4 at St. Pauls Anglican Church, 830 North Dr. at Point Road at 1:00 p.m., with a private family interment at a later date. The family wishes to thank all the staff at the Fort Garry Care Centre for their compassion and support. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Parkinsons Society, Alzheimer Society or a charity of ones choice.
