Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBLANCHE MARIE VAN BUEKENHOUT December 20, 1925 - August 31, 2003 On August 31, 2003 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Blanche passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Blanche was born in Belgium to Julien and Emerence Maertens. She was predeceased by her husband Maurice; her parents; her infant sister Margaret and her brother George. Blanche is survived by her immediate family, two sons, Robert and Thomas; daughter-in-law Linda; grandchildren, Jamie, Charlene and Lee-Anne; Jamies wife Melinda and their daughter and Blanches beloved great granddaughter Jessica. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Irene Daeninck, Jenny Miller, Lillian Dusessoy, Andrew Maertens and Gerrard Maertens and numerous nieces and nephews. She was married to Maurice in 1946 and for 39 years enjoyed a loving marriage. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed caring for her family. She lived by the phrase, "It is a great life if you dont weaken" and she never did. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 4 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Road. Interment will follow in the Belgium Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff of the St. Boniface Hospital who helped Blanche pass away in peace and comfort.
