PHILLIP BERRINGER At home on Friday, August 29, 2003, at the age of 90, Dad went to join our mother who has been waiting patiently for a very long time. Dad was born in Port Arthur, ON on February 25, 1913. He was predeceased by his loving wife Edith in 1984 and his only brother Jack in 1980. Left to mourn his passing are his daughter Carol and husband Larry Lyons with whom he lived for almost 19 years; his daughter Darlene, who lives in Montreal; his daughter Michelle and husband Frank Hiebert who are currently living in Sandy Hook, and his son Keith and wife Margie who live in Winnipeg. Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Courtney (Micah) and Nigel Berringer and Jason and Rayna Hiebert; as well as several nieces and nephews and his wonderful neighbours on McGill. Dad had a full and eventful life. After his retirement from the CNR in 1978 he and Mom spent lots of time at the cottage in Sandy Hook, as well as travelling to Vegas, Hawaii, Florida, California, British Columbia and Montreal. After Mom passed away, Dad still managed to travel to various destinations with his kids, and even went on a cruise with Darlene, which was one of the highlights of his later years. Once it became difficult for Dad to get around he was content to sit at the window in his favourite chair and watch the comings and goings of the neighbourhood. Dads favourite thing to do in the whole world was to spend time with his family. Cremation has taken place and in accordance with his wishes, there will be no service. A celebration of his life with family and friends will take place at the McGill homestead at a later date. Many thanks to Dr. Verrelli and the nurses in the Peritoneal Dialysis and ACF Units at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and concern. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Branch, 200 - 55 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1L8. DAD, WELL MISS YOU!
