JOY McKINNEY (nee SMITH) Passed away peacefully at the age of 61 years on August 25, 2003 at Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg. Joy was born in West Ewell, Surrey, England on December 17 1941, and she immigrated to Victoria, BC in 1944. In her youth she was actively involved in theatre and music in Duncan, BC. She travelled extensively within Canada with her late husband Gerald McKinney, Honorary Doctorate of Laws, Manitoba and was a strong support to him in his environment list activities. She had a keen interest in political matters, and enjoyed discussing current affairs. Joy will be lovingly remembered by her loving daughter Tammy McKinney, Winnipeg; son David McKinney, Delta, BC; parents, Gerald and Peggy Smith, Duncan, BC; sister Pamela Smith, Sechelt, BC; brothers-in-law, David McKinney (Nancy), Calgary, AB, and Gilbert McKinney, Victoria, BC; and nephew Paul Schwagly, Victoria, BC. Joy was a very special person to all who knew her.
