Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJACQUELINE SCANES (nee DALENGER) After a courageous battle, Jackie Scanes went to meet her Lord and Saviour on August 28, 2003. Born in Winnipeg, MB on August 11, 1933 to the late Pauline and Jack Dalenger, Jackie attended St. Johns high school. On July 13, 1957 Jackie married her sweetheart Fred Scanes. They lived in Winnipeg most of their lives with their four daughters. For the past 11 years, Jackie and Fred have resided in Burlington, ON. Jackie is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Fred; daughter Sandra and son-in-law Jim Reimer; daughter Wendy and son-in-law Ross Reimer and their children Alexander and Riley; daughter Kathryn Graham, and daughter Kristen and son-in-law Michael Nikiforuk and their son Elijah. Jackie is also survived by her dear sisters, Donna Lee and husband Sam Kuzio of British Columbia and Patricia and husband Terry Metz of Alberta. Most important to Jackie was her love of God and her devotion to her beloved family. She leaves a legacy of love that will live on through her family and friends who miss her dearly. Jackie was happiest when busy creating in her kitchen. Always a gracious hostess, her servants heart and gift of hospitality blessed not only her family but also many others through the years. People always commented on how beautiful, regal and elegant Jackie was. Yet Jackie had a depth that went far beneath her beautiful appearance; she was a great woman of faith who was always helping someone. An accomplished businesswoman and entrepreneur, Jackie achieved great success in her career. She also had many interests outside of work and was affectionately crowned "the garage sale goddess" by her family. She loved craft sales, attending the farmers market, reading, music and had the most graceful swimming stroke ever seen! Her beautiful smile will be sorely missed, especially by her husband. Jackie and Fred were magic to behold on the dance floor. The greatest wife, mother and friend dances on... A memorial service to celebrate Jackies life will be held at Chartwell Baptist Church, 228 Chartwell Rd., Oakville, ON L6J 3Z8, Tel: 905-844-2801 at 3:00 p.m. Sunday September 7. In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated to The Carpenter Hospice, 2250 Parkway Dr., Burlington, ON L7P 1T1, Tel: 905-631-9994.
