Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM SCHEER April 11, 1926 - September 2, 2003 It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of William Scheer, 77 years of age on September 2, 2003. Willy was born on April 11, 1926 in the R.M. of Brokenhead to John and Lydia Scheer. Willy went to school at Cromwell and after leaving school, went to work in the bush camps and also operated heavy equipment. Hockey and baseball were a couple of his favourite sports. As a young fellow, he played for the Green Bay Eagles. On July 4, 1953, he married Margaret Yacyna and they lived in Basswood, MB for a few years. Then in 1956, they moved on to the farm where he presently resided. They had animals, did some grain farming, and also had cutter bees. Willy was always busy, but willing to lend a hand whenever possible, and was always eager for a fishing trip. Willys interest in later years turned toward Austin and the Threshermens Reunion. There he spent many happy hours tinkering with machinery with family and friends. He always pulled the Reunion Ladies Float in the parade. He was definitely a character! You could almost set your clock to Willy. Seven oclock was coffee at Vickies with the fellas. If you needed to find him, it would be 12:15 at Chicken Delight. In the evenings, his truck would turn the corner at the Super 8, going to town for coffee. He would only have one "because Im driving, you know." Willy was predeceased by his father John; mother Lydia; brother Ed and sister Adeline. He is survived by wife Margaret; brothers, Fred (Mary Lou), Albert (Lena), Leo (Gail) sisters, Gerti and Eleanor (Wally) and their families, numerous nephews and nieces (who he teased all the time) and many special friends he made throughout the years. Friends may pay their respects on Sunday, September 7 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue E., Beausejour. Funeral service will be held on Monday September 8 at 11:00 a.m. also at the Sobering Funeral Chapel with Rev. Hugh Laidlaw officiating. Interment will follow at the Zion Lutheran cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an Educational Trust Fund for Kristin and Brett Keilback at South Interlake Credit Union, Box 340, Beausejour, MB ROE OCO or to a charity of ones choice.
