MARY SHEWCHUK It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Mary Shewchuk, wife of Alex Shewchuk, dearest mother of Debra (Art) Doerksen, David (Connie) Shewchuk and dear friend Bo Bo, on September 3, 2003, the day of their 43rd wedding anniversary. She was predeceased by her parents, father John J. Paciorka (1990), mother Pauline Paciorka (2000) brother Maurice Paciorka (2000) sister Elsie Slymkevich (1995) and brother-in-law Gerry Slymkevich (1996). Mary was born January 2, 1937, was raised on the family farm near Vita, MB. She later pursued a career in hairdressing in Winnipeg in 1954. On September 3, 1960 she married Alex. They started their family in 1965, a daughter Debra and in 1968, a son David. Her greatest enjoyment in life was entertaining family and friends, canning, gardening and playing bingo. Funeral service will be held Monday, September 8 at Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Viewing 9:30 a.m., funeral service 10:00 a.m. Burial directly after service at Transcona Cemetery. Pallbearers, Glen Zommer (godchild), Lars Feilberg, Harold Padolchuk, Glen Radewich, Wayne Shewchuk, Orest Paciorka. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Dearest Wife and Mother The hardest thing in life to bear, To want you Mom and youre not there.
