ALEXANDER (ALEX) SIEBERT November 13, 1929- September 2, 2003 With sadness our family announces the sudden passing of our beloved husband and father on September 2, 2003 at Grace General Hospital in Winnipeg. Predeceased by his brother Erich; father Rudolf and mother Bertha; Alex is survived by his wife Hanna; sons, Rick and Gord; brother Emanuel (Margaret) brother-in-law Reinhard (Jean) and nieces, Valerie, Barbara, Monica, Joanne; and nephew Rob. Alex was born in Russia on November 13, 1929. Following the Second World War, he immigrated to Canada with his mother and brother, Emanuel. By 1951, Winnipeg had become their new home. In 1952, Alex met his wife Hanna. They were married one year later on August 29, 1953. Before too long, they started a family and would eventually have two boys: Rick and Gord. Alex supported his family by working as a dedicated and skillful painter. When he wasnt working, he enjoyed outdoor pursuits with friends and family. In his earlier years, he loved to go fishing and hunting. Throughout his entire life, he was a dedicated and accomplished 5-pin bowler. In more recent years, his focus shifted towards his love for the game of golf. Alex finally retired from painting in 1996. The years following were spent enjoying his well-deserved retirement with his wife Hanna. On August 29, 2003, Alex and Hanna celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary together. Cremation has taken place and in accordance with his wishes, there will be no service. A celebration of his life will take place at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 7.
