Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH (BETTY) ANN BORUSHYNSKI (nee BARKER) It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, daughter, grandmother and sister at her home in Vernon, BC on August 30, 2003 at the age of 65 years. Betty was predeceased by her husband David Borushyncki and her father John Barker. She will be lovingly missed by her daughters, Heather of Kamloops, BC, Barb Evanuik (Ryan), Cathy of Chelmsford, ON, Debra Van de Kerkhove (Rick), Kelly (Danny), Wendy Morales (Alfredo) of Calgary, AB. She is also survived by her beloved mother Rhoda Lavalee of Vernon; brothers, John of Vernon, Chris (Susan) of Abbottsford, BC, Gerry (Brenda) of Oakdale, ON; sister Linda Schwarz (Phil) of Birtle, MB; and Uncle Norman of Vancouver, BC. Mom adored her granddaughters, Crystal, Tabatha and Sarah June for which she had a special, close relationship; also many nieces and nephews; friends; and her dear friend Paty Beer. Mom was born in Winnipeg on February 28, 1938, the first of five children. She grew up in East Kildonan, where she met her future husband David on a blind date in 1957 on Prince Rupert Street. They married in April 1958 and later had and raised six daughters. Mom was a dedicated mother to her six daughters. She got involved in her childrens school activities, such as breakfast programs at King Edward School. You could always catch Mom reading a book or working in her garden. She enjoyed nature, her crafts, loved animals, and especially her dear little dog, Puppins. In 1981, she moved to Vernon where she resided until her passing. Mom was a very kind and giving person. She was very supportive and non-judgmental to everyone she knew and met. We will all miss her dearly. By her wishes, cremation and prayer service has taken place in Vernon on Sunday, September 7. Please, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Epilepsy Manitoba, 825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Reception will follow. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
