Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERNA IVONCHUK (nee BRAUN) Suddenly, on Wednesday, September 3, 2003, at her residence, Erna Ivonchuk passed away at the age of 89 years. Erna was born May 6, 1914, in Russia, immigrating to Manitoba at the age of 12. She lived in Osterwyck and Hochfeld near Winkler, later moving to Winnipeg where she married Anthony in 1943. In 1946 they moved to Vermette, MB, where she enjoyed farming with her husband until he predeceased her in October 1993. Erna will be lovingly remembered by two daughters, Marie Hebert (George) of Surrey, BC, Helen Palahitski (Wayne) of Winnipeg; one son Anthony Jr. (Solange) of Winnipeg; six grandchildren, Aimee-Lynn and Kevin Hebert, Wayne Jr. and Sherry Palahitski, Clint and Grant Ivonchuk; three great-grandchildren, Shae-Lynne, Cassidy and Angel. She will be sadly missed and dearly loved by family, relatives and many friends. Besides her husband Anthony, Erna was predeceased by her parents; sister Luise; brothers, Daniel, Cornelius, John and George; and sister-in-law Margaret. Erna was always a kind, sweet, loving person to everyone. She was very enjoyable, content and always so pleasant to be with. Erna always had a story to tell about her life, and enjoyed being outdoors, farming and caring for her flowers and garden. She enjoyed cooking and especially loved being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral service will take place 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 9 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Viewing will take place one half-hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Cemetery. God looked around His garden and found an empty space; He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face: He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest; Gods garden must be beautiful He only takes the best.
