Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPHILIP MARASHINSKY With profound sadness, the family of the late Philip Marashinsky announces his passing on Saturday, August 23, 2003, at the age of 91 years, at the Sharon Home. Born in Poland in 1912, Philip immigrated to Canada at the age of eight with his parents. He attended Norquay, Aberdeen and St. Johns Tech Schools, where he was an outstanding student. After a 35 year career with Canada Post, Philip retired in 1985, but remained very active until well into his 80s, utilizing his many talents to help others, until his health began to fail and he went to live, first at the Quest Life Care Centre in 1996, and then the Sharon Home in late December, 2002. Beloved son of David and Hilda, and brother to Jack and Israel Marashinsky and Earle Marr, who predeceased him, Philip leaves to mourn his brothers, Maurice (Daisy) and Myron, as well as eight nieces and nephews, who will always remember his unwavering devotion to his family throughout his life. A graveside service was held at Shaarey Zedek Memorial Park on Sunday, August 24, with Bill Weissmann officiating. Pallbearers were his brother Maurice, and nephews, "Big" David and his wife Terri, and "Little" David and his sons, Josh and Jared.
