ANNE KUFFNER Peacefully, on Saturday, September 6, 2003, Anne Kuffner (nee Nowicki) passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 89. "She has achieved success because she lived well, laughed often and loved much. She has gained the love and respect of all she knew. She has accomplished her task and left the world better than she found it. She has looked for the best in others and given of the best she had. Her life was an inspiration and her memory is a benediction." Welcoming Anne home to eternity are her husband Emil, daughter Therese and son-in-law Paul, son Adolph (Rudy), as well as three children in their infancy, Adolph, Patricia and Beatrice; and siblings, Joe, John, Stanley and Nellie. Left to celebrate her memory are her daughter-in-law Jo (the late Rudy) of Chicago, Al (Judy), Vic (Suzanne), Fran DesLauriers (Fred), all of Winnipeg, Richard (Geri) of Tyndall, Bertha Blerot (Harvey) of Brandon, and Ted (Vera) of Winnipeg. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, Cindy, Steven, Diane, Fred, Wally, Ryan, Travis, Angela, Chantal, Julie, Cory, Tara, Greg, Mark, Jason and Jeremy; nine great-grandchildren, Becky, David, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Joshua, Ashley, Braden, Kyle and David; as well as her brother Ed and sisters, Katie, Rose and Mary. Mom was born in Tyndall, MB on May 5, 1914. On January 13, 1934 she married Emil Kuffner and they raised their family on a livestock, grain farm in Garson. She and Dad moved to Winnipeg in 1971. Being a hard worker, Mom sought a new career with the post office and then the local school division as custodian. After retiring in 1977, she and Dad enjoyed travelling, gardening and visiting with family and friends until his passing in November 1993. Mom had an incredible passion for life and living. She especially enjoyed the numerous family gatherings of which she was always the heart. She stood with grace and courage to meet the responsibilities and challenges that life brought, embracing the sad moments along with the happy ones. Mom inspired us to grow and maintain strong family roots, and loved and supported us all without interference. She taught us all that adversity could be overcome by love, patience, strength and the support of family. We invite you to celebrate Moms life with us. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, September 10 at 7:30 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue East, Beausejour. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 11 at 10:30 a.m., also at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Garson. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. We invite you to join us for lunch at the Garson Community Centre following the interment.
