GERTRUDE MAY LILLIES (KELLOUGH) May 14, 1917 - September 6, 2003 It is with profound sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Nan and Great-nan on Saturday, September 6, 2003, at the Charleswood Care Centre. Mom was predeceased by Dad, Stan Lillies, on March 28, 1995. She leaves to cherish her memory her only daughter Arlene Kerr; son-in-law Hans; beloved grandchildren, Heather (Jason Vermeulen), Kathy Cherepak (Vince), Sandra Bridge (Blue Jay), Rob Kerr; and great-grandsons, Jarrett and Carson Cherepak; sisters, Vi Smith (George) of East Selkirk, Rose Gibson of Winnipeg; and sister-in-law Gwen Crompton (Fred) of Surrey, BC; as well as many nieces and nephews. Gert was one of a family of 10 siblings, and "her Family" was the most important aspect of her life - be it Stan, Arlene, Hans and the Kids or her brothers and sisters. Mom was predeceased just 12 days ago by her beloved sister and friend Pearl Cooper. She was also predeceased by her parents, William and Alice Kellough; brothers, George, John, Crawford, and Ruben Kellough; other sisters, Leone Alexander and Irene Koblansky. Mom was born in Winnipeg, lived in Stonewall, married Dad on December 7, 1940, and lived the majority of their 55 years of married life in the house they built and loved on Assiniboine Avenue, in St. James. Mom endlessly enjoyed sharing her marvellous cooking and pies with "her Family" and Arlenes friends. She took great pride in keeping her home immaculate, no matter where it was, to which the staff at Charleswood will no doubt attest. Mom was a beautiful woman, both inside and out. She adored her grandchildren and even right until the end, inspite of her frailties, the comments she always made to us were: "Can I help you do anything?" and "Be careful." Thank you, Mom and Nan, for all that you were to us. We will miss you and love you forever. "Rest in Peace Darling" The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at Charleswood Care Centre for the loving care, support and kindnesses that they have given to Mom and us while she made it her home for four years. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 11 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance, with the Rev. Ian Mills officiating. Pallbearers will be Rob Kerr, Vince Cherepak, Blue Jay Bridge, John Quinton, Rick Smith and Doug Kellough. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to The Arthritis Society, 105 - 326 Broadway, or The Breast Cancer Centre of Hope, 691 Wolseley Ave., R3G 1C3. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
