Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBURNS WARREN BEMISTER The Lord called Warren home on Saturday, September 6, 2003 leaving his beloved wife and lifetime partner Sheila and children, Jonathon (Brenda), Patrick, Andrew (Iris), Mary Louise, Bernard, Timothy (Kathy) and Paul. He was born in 1921 to Bertrand and Helen Bemister in Winnipeg, the eldest of four. Warren enlisted in the RCAF in 1940 and served overseas until 1945, when he and his bride returned to Canada. After 32 years of employment with the T. Eaton Company, Warren retired to Kelowna, BC with his wife Sheila and youngest son Paul, returning to family and friends in Winnipeg in 1989. He served as a choirmaster for 30 years at St. Eugene, St. Alphonus and Holy Redeemer Parish, where Warren and Sheila were founding members. He was also a long standing member of the K of C. In addition to his love of music, Warren enjoyed gardening, travelling and summers at the cottage. Before becoming ill, Dad spent many hours teaching himself to play the Uilleann and Northumbrian pipes. He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Betty and Dorothy (Don) many grandchildren, great-grandchild; numerous nephews and nieces in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. The family wishes to thank the caring and compassionate staff of the Riverview Health Centre (3 East) for making Warrens final days very special. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 12 at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 4588 Roblin Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Warrens memory to the Amnesty International, 2nd floor - 91 Albert St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 1G5.
