GEORGENE KLING On Friday, September 5, 2003, Lieutenant Reverend Georgene Kling of Edmonton passed away at the age of 50 years. She is survived by her parents, Jack and Doreen Kling; two brothers and two sisters, Raymond (Tannis) and their children, Michael, Scott, and Jacqueline of Maple Ridge, BC, Shoranne (Art Cuddeford) and their children, Aaron, Colleen, and Jacqueline of Winnipeg, Deborah of Edmonton, William (Leslie) Kling and their children, Katie and Bradley of Richmond, BC; and one great niece, Danica. Georgene was the first female Reverend with the Canadian Armed Forces. She was born into the life of the service and fulfilled her life with her faith and family. Georgene fought to the very end and will be greatly missed. Funeral service Wednesday, September 10 at 1:30 p.m. at Chapel of St. Luke and St. John, CFB Edmonton, Building 182, Mons and Fortunato with Major Christopher Ryan officiating. Cremation will follow in the Park Memorial Crematorium. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. It's with great sadness that I googled an old friend's name only to discover she had passed. Georgene was my pastor and mentor in PlaP. I lost touch with her when posted to Baden. I really regret not looking her up as soon as I returned. Her self-control was truly inspirational. I remember one time she fasted and lost several waste sizes to everyone's amazement. She was also a great team leader giving each member exactly what they needed to succeed and just enough to be a challenge for them.
