KENNETH R.W. (PEPPER) MORRIS Ken Morris, age 67 of Harrison Hot Springs, B.C. formerly of Headingley, died peacefully on August 14, 2003 with his wife Shirlee at his bedside. Ken is survived by his wife Shirlee; son Shawn; daughters Marnie, Valerie (Mark), Sheryl plus four grandchildren, sister Dolores (Wayne) McIsaac, and many nieces and nephews. Ken was predeceased by his mother and father Gertrude and Len Morris and brother Harold. Ken spent his early years in Weston playing hockey, baseball and soccer, hence the nickname Pepper. Kens first job in 1953 was at the CPR Weston Shops. He joined the St. James Fire Department in 1967. Ken coached Charleswood Hawks in the MJHA from 1982 to 1983 and 1986 to 1987 when he was chosen Coach of the Year, with his son Shawn on the team. Ken retired in 1995 to B.C. returning many times to be with his buddies at Brooklands Weston Legion and to see his sister. At Kens request cremation has taken place. There will be a private family gathering at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, R3E 0V9 or the Winnipeg Fire Fighters Burn Fund, 303-83 Garry Street, Winnipeg, R3C 4J9.
