Josie was born in Winnipeg on February 10, 1923, and she attended Cecil Rhodes School and Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. Her career took her to several Winnipeg businesses, Scott Bathgate, North American Lumber, North American Educational Guild, Sherwin-Williams and Birks. She led a full and active life. Josie had a wonderful singing voice, and she sang at many venues around Winnipeg and on the radio in the 1940s. Her love of travel took her on many cruises and tours all over the world. Another great joy in Josies life was painting and she spent countless happy hours producing her "masterpieces". She also kept busy attending the WSO Pops, Canadian Club and Aurora Club luncheons, and the ReFit Centre. Family time was very important to Josie. Many wonderful summers were spent at the family cottage on Coney Island in Kenora, and more recently she delighted in watching her grandchildren enjoy the lake at Clearwater Bay. Flowers are gratefully declined. Josie would have appreciated donations made in her name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews River Heights United Church, 255 Oak St. at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, September 15.
