Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL WACZKO March 1, 1900 - September 8, 2003 Peacefully on September 8, 2003 with his family by his side at the Douglas Campbell Lodge in Portage la Prairie. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, John, Steve and Bill and sister Pearl, wife Nettie in 1997, grandson Danny Mozdzen and son-in-law Bill VanSickle in 2002. He is survived by one son Edward (Karen) Waczko; daughters Mary VanSickle, Elsie (Henry) Mozdzen, Jean (Reinhard) Fershau; nine grandchildren, Lynne (Red), Billy, Corinne (Gary), Cory (Marnie), Joanne, Rob (Cadre), Curtis (Rosie), Kyle and Kenny; eight great-grandchildren and two nieces and four nephews. Dad was born in the Ukraine on March 1, 1900. He came to Canada in 1926 and in 1931 he married Nettie. They started farming in Alonsa in 1933 and retired to Portage in 1971. Dad moved to the Douglas Campbell Lodge in January of 1995 and spent eight years under loving and caring staff there. Basically he enjoyed good health until six weeks prior to his passing. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 10 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption, 620 1st St. N.W. with Father Ernest Hafichuk and Deacon Strilec officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Should friends so desire memorial donations may be made to Douglas Campbell Lodge. Ronald Moffit Memorial Services in care of arrangements.
