Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER MACIEJKOW It is with deep sorrow, we announce the passing our beloved husband, father, grandfather Peter Maciejkow at the age of 76 years on September 9, 2003 at the Health Sciences Centre. Peter was predeceased by his parents and three brothers, Mike, Nick and William. He is survived by his loving wife Shirley (Strong) son Tim (Louise) daughters, Marilyn, Cathy (Darren) grandchildren, Danny, Christina, Andrew, Jeremy and Sarah; brothers, Joe (Dorothy), Alex (Diane) sisters, Ann Chudleigh, Mary Borowski (Mike), Jessie Lavergne (Ed), Elsie DeVisser; sisters-in-law, Frances Magico, Ann Maciejkow and Sophie Maciejkow; brothers-in-law, Maurice (Ethel), Stan (friend Ilene) and Norman; sisters-in-law, Tillie Strong, Betty (Jim), Joan Whittington, Jean (Len). Peter was born on June 11, 1927 and resided in the Springfield and East St. Paul areas all his life. In 1956 he married Shirley and had a long and happy marriage of almost 48 years. Peter was an extremely private person, also a very special loving and caring father. He devoted his life to his family. Peter worked a very dedicated 40 plus years to his employer at Building Products and Concrete. The family is extremely grateful to the Emergency Staff at Concordia Hospital (Terry and Scott). Extra special thanks for the exceptional care given by the staff at MICU Health Sciences Centre (Dr. Justin Wong and nurses). Dr. Wong is a very special doctor who will be deeply remembered by the family. Many thanks to neighbours Lawrence (Ollie) for all your snow clearing when I was working, also for helping Peter when he wasnt feeling well; Terry and Janet, Fred Laurel, Robert Jaworski for cutting our lawn; special friend Pat Law; friends Joe Zelinsky and Bill Hitra (Mary). Special thanks to Bob Morris for his many visits to Peter. It was greatly appreciated. Thank you and much love to Mary, Peters sister for her many years of support and comfort. Special nephew Garry (Lynn) and Michael. Peter will be greatly missed by his Pal Buffy (poodle). She will miss her dad dearly. Viewing will be on Thursday, September 11 at 12:30 p.m. at Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale Ave. West, Transcona with funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Ukrainian National Cemetery on Lorne Hill Road, Springfield, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 1X3. God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, courage to change the things we can and the wisdom to know the difference.
