ANNA CARRUTHERS It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Anna Carruthers on September 9, 2003 after a lengthy illness. Anna was born at Brant Argyle, MB, the daughter of Margaret and Alfred Spencer. She was predeceased by her parents; and loving husband Gordon Carruthers; brother Charles T. Spencer; sisters, Rena Spencer, Lottie Shupe, Maybelle Lewis and Mary Vaughan. She leaves to cherish her memory, god-daughter and niece Margaret Jane Finnen of Salmon Arm, BC; niece Sara Jeannette Colontoni, San Pedro, CA; cousins, Mary Ann Fitzgerald and Mary Lobb, both of Winnipeg; step-grandchildren, Kelly Clark and Carol Lonero; great-nieces, Mary Beth McMillan, Airdrie, Alberta, Shawn Willcuts - San Pedro; great-nephew Christian (Julissa) Colontoni, La Qunita, CA. Also her much loved extended family Donna Carruthers, Stella Shipman, Johanne Gingras, Greg Clark and Shawn Ross. Anna was a direct descendant of the Lord Selkirk Settlers and a member of that Association. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit of Grace Hospital and to Oakview Extended Care. Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 15 at 10:30 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway with interment following in Brookside Cemetery.
