GEORGE MILLER HARPER Born in Georgetown, Renfrewshire, Scotland, January 8, 1922. George passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9, 2003 at the St Boniface Hospital, surrounded by his immediate family. His leaving was too soon, and he will be profoundly missed by his daughters, Kathryn and Margaret and their families. Predeceased by his wife Nancy, in June 2001, George is now reunited with the love of his life - together forever. Our heartfelt gratitude is extended to Dr. Randolf Guzman, Dr. Davidson, other attending physicians, the many nurses and staff who so compassionately cared for our dad and grampa. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 14 at the Garry Memorial, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Flowers are most welcome, however should anyone wish to make alternate donations, please forward them to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimers Society. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Dad, you were such a well-known and loved figure in every aspect of your life. I can't think of one person who didn't like you. Your sense of humour, that cheeky twinkle in your eye that told us you were up to something, or about to say something that you probably shouldn't. You were hilarious with all the wee antics that you developed over the years. You now have two fantastic great-grandchildren, Owen 12 and Alice 10. I have taught them everything I know about you and for years they felt that they actually knew you. From my cupboard, they know which plate was yours (I still eat from it). They know that the table knives in my cutlery drawer were yours. They even hold the spoon in their mouths like you used to when eating cake. They think you're hilarious because of all the stories I told them about you. Owen is very excited about one day being able to wear the one pullover of yours that I kept. He has claimed your comb and your hankie and hopes to one day fit into your beige sports jacket. Owen & Alice love you so much, Papa George and Nanny too. I'm still at the RV where you lived and I help run the wee bingo. There are still a handful of people here who knew you. I have never forgotten the wisdom you taught me about everything, and I'm sure I have developed your crazy Scottish sense of humour. The weins will tell ye that. Sometimes they even tell me to behave or I'll get a "skite in the lugs". Cheeky wee bissoms, but you would have such a fun time with them. We love you so much and miss you every day. See you and Mum one fine day. Love and hugs, Kathryn - Posted by: Kathryn (Daughter) on: Mar 20, 2021
