FLORENCE MAY McMILLIN (nee PATTERSON) March 16, 1930 - September 10, 2003 Florence passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Centre. Her memory will be cherished by family and many friends. Florence leaves her beloved husband Lorne of 52 years; sons, Lawrence (Elaine) and Rick (Barb) daughters, Nancy (Wayne) and Deb (Terry) and grandchildren, Rachel, Tynan, Craig, Chelsea, Alex, Carly, John. She is also survived by her sister Ivy (Cliff) and brother-in-law Ellery. She was predeceased by her sister Gladys. Florence was raised and married in Boissevain (1952), moved to Steinbach (1963), Selkirk (1971) and then into Winnipeg (1992). She was a career mom and embraced her family with patience and love. She especially enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with friends. Her grandchildren were a source of immense enjoyment and she followed their activities with great interest. Florence faced her final challenge with grace and courage. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the St. Boniface and Grace General Hospitals, Palliative Care Centres for their loving care, support and kindness. A celebration of Flos life will be held Friday, September 12 at 1:00 p.m. at the Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Dr., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully accepted in her name at the St. Boniface Hospital, c/o Research Foundation Office, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6 or Grace General Palliative Care Centre, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7.
