ED LEONARD 1930 - 2003 Peacefully on Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital, Kenora, ON. Ed was born September 3, 1930 in Winnipeg, MB; moved to Lockport with his family in 1970, and retired at Locke Bay in the Kenora area in 1990. Ed was a Sales Representative with London Life Insurance Company for 38 years with his work for the most of those years centered in the Transcona area. Ed loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, particularly bird hunting so he could have a Black Lab at his side. In earlier years Ed was involved with field trailing and since moving to the Kenora area became an active member of the lake of the Woods Gun Club. Prior to retirement, Ed and his family had a camp at Locke Bay and spent many happy hours with family and friends fishing on the Winnipeg River. He will be sadly missed by his wife and best friend, Elaine; his son Wayne and wife Linda; and his son Vic and granddaughter Nicole, all of Kenora. He will also be missed by his many friends as well as his hunting, fishing and gun club buddies. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Wilf and Isabel Leonard of Winnipeg. Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 13, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kenora Community Funeral Home, Highway 17 West, Keewatin, ON. Honourary Pallbearers will be: Barry Place, Vic Forsyth, Fred Watson, Otto Olson, Gord Keeler, Gord Robinson and Gord Dixon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital CT Scanner Fund, 21 Sylvan St., Kenora, ON, P9N 3W7 or the Canadian Cancer Society.
