MARLENE CARNEGIE It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marlene Joan Carnegie (nee Stewart) on Wednesday, September 10 after a seven month battle with cancer. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband Jack; son Rob; daughter Karen; daughter-in-law Robin; son-in-law Barry; and four wonderful grandchildren, Sydney, Courtney, Danielle and Craig. Marlene was predeceased by her parents, John and Gert Stewart and her sister Shirley McArthur. Marlene was born in Winnipeg, growing up and residing in St. James. She worked at the Grace Hospital as a clinical instructor in the radiology department until retirement. She was a founding member of the Heather Belles pipe band and was actively involved in PEO and the Tuxedo Ladies Golf Club. Marlene especially enjoyed running, aerobics, golfing, travelling and shopping but her family was the greatest source of enjoyment and she followed her grandchildrens activities with great interest. The family would like to thank the staff at CancerCare Manitoba, the angels working in the Palliative Care ward at the St. Boniface Hospital and, of course, all the friends and family who have lent their support and compassion through Marlenes battle with cancer. We are indeed truly blessed to have such good friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation Inc., 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB; R3E 0V9. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 15 at the Surgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Dr. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
