After graduating from Winnipeg Normal School in 1943, Ina began a career as a teacher. While on a "sandbag line" during the 1950 Winnipeg flood she met Frank McLaughlin, a career soldier, who was, at that time, based at Camp Shilo. They were married November 10, 1951. Ina resumed her teaching career in Shilo and continued there until 1980 when she retired. The majority of her career in Shilo was spent teaching kindergarten. Ina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother as well as a devoted friend of many. In her younger years she enjoyed curling and bowling. After retirement she enjoyed travelling the country with Frank, spending many winters in Arizona, making many new friends. Playing bridge, outdoor shuffleboard and her brisk daily walks were some of her pastimes.
