HELEN HARDER 1922 - 2003 Mrs. Helen Harder, beloved wife of Jacob Harder, of Calgary, AB passed away at the Foothills Hospital on Thursday, September 11, 2003, at the age of 81 years. She was born and raised on a farm in southern Manitoba. This is where Helen shared a special bond with her sister Anne, working hard on the farm and playing music in get-togethers with friends and family. This was an important part of her life back then and Helen especially liked to play the piano and organ. In the early years of their marriage, she and Jake raised their family and shared the burdens of farm life, the challenges of a convenience store and gas bar partnership and a construction business. She also made homemaking her profession and excelled at making exceptionally delicious bread and desserts. She had a passion for gardening, enjoyed sitcoms, country music, and taking care of her little pets. She was always a positive guiding force in the lives of her children, grandchildren and others around her. Helen will always be remembered for her positive outlook and unconditional love for all of us. She was loved by many and will be sadly missed. Helen devoted her life to supporting the needs of her family and attending to the care and special needs of Jake, her dear husband of 60 years, enjoying their home and spending time with her family and friends. Besides her loving husband, Helen is survived by her two children Ron (Sandra) Harder and Carol (Nick) Moltschanow; two grandchildren Colin and Sean Harder of Calgary and sister Anne (Peter) Wall of Delta, BC. Helen was predeceased by her brothers Jake and John.
