Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVELYN (LYNN) MAY LOCKE 1925 - 2003 It is with a heavy heart that we announce the gentle passing of Evelyn May Locke on September 13, 2003 at Grace General Hospital. Lynn was born November 14, 1925 and was the fourth of six children for Amelia (Mary) and William Hutchinson. Her early days were spent on the farm in Spruce Home, SK, where she enjoyed spending her time running and climbing trees. She joined the W.A.C. and was posted in Maple Creek during the Second World War as a Sergeant. Soon after she met and fell in love with Joseph Locke and they were married on December 24, 1946. Together they spent many happy years traveling and raising their five children, Bob, Patricia, Leslie, Kathy and Ian. During this time, Lynn had an incredible love for animals, nature, bowling, bingo, baseball, skating and homemaking. Lynn and her family relocated to Winnipeg in 1967 and she continued to live out her days in the city. Lynn was able to enjoy many blessings in her life - family, friends, children getting married and becoming a grandmother and great-grandmother. A selfless person, she was always giving of herself and sharing her heart and her home with all the people in her life. She spent the summer of 2003 with her family enjoying family get-togethers, being outdoors and seeing the Canada Day fireworks. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph; father William; mother Amelia (Mary) brother Bill; sisters, Hazel and Irene; son-in-law Joe. Evelyn is survived by her son Bob (Muriel) daughters, Patricia (Barrie), Leslie and Kathy (Brian) youngest son Ian (Leah) granddaughters, Sabrina and Kaitlyn; grandson Dustin; great-granddaughter Amethyst; brother Jim; sister Violet (P.A.) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 18 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with luncheon to follow and interment at Brookside Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations to the Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3 or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. "Mom, your spirit is free, now you can run."
