Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySOPHIE SHEMANSKI (nee SKLAR) November 30, 1914 - September 13, 2003 Suddenly, Sophie left to join her husband William. She is dearly remembered by her daughters, Olga and Bernice (Alex) grandchildren, William and Donna; and great granddaughter Amara. She also leaves behind brother Mike; sisters, Stella, Jean and Helen. Sophie was born in Weiden, Manitoba. She enjoyed railway life with her husband. They retired to Winnipeg in 1973. Here, she became an active parishioner of St. Basils Ukrainian Catholic Church. Prayers will be held 7:00 p.m.Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at St. Basils Ukrainian Catholic Church, 202 Harcourt St. Funeral will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2003 from the church as well with Father Isidore Dziadyk OSBM officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Pidskalny, Matthew Baydock, Tony Sklar, George Poburan, Alex Dowie and William Dowie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Suite 200, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 0K6.
