ALICE MARGARET STRUTT (BLOCKER) Alice went to be with her Lord on September 14, 2003, at the age of 95. Alice is survived by her daughter Elaine (Bill) son Ron (Carolyn) and three grandchildren, Sean, Megan and Andrew; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Sherman; parents Henry and Mary Blocker; and brothers, Erwin, Alfred and Herbert Blocker. Alice was born on January 27, 1908, in Meadowvale (Dugald), MB, the only daughter of Henry and Mary Blocker (nee Mum). On October 31, 1942, Pastor Erthol married Alice and Sherman Currie Strutt at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Winnipeg, MB. Alice was instrumental in the education and spiritual education of her daughter and son. Though life was not always easy, Alice maintained strong faith and commitment to her Lord. Alice loved her chosen career of teaching. She had very special talents, including sewing, cooking, music, drawing, painting, church pianist and organist and choir conductor. She was actively involved in church, community and volunteer activities and very interested in world affairs. She had a passion for learning and knowledge and great empathy for those who were less fortunate. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 11:00 a.m., at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Wellington Crescent and Academy Road. A private burial will take place. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at Riverview Palliative Care 3E for their thoughtful and passionate care.
